IChemE Global Awards Winners!

The 2023 Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Global Awards Dinner took place on 30th November 2023 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, UK. CircularChem were delighted to be finalists in both the Sustainability and Team categories.

We are thrilled to announce that CircularChem won the Sustainability Award sponsored by Johnson Matthey. Members of the Centre attended the awards evening to receive the prestigious award recognising the significant impact the Centre has made to the sector so far.

CircularChem brings together stakeholders from academia, industry, government, NGOs and general public to transform the UK’s £32 bn chemical industry into a sustainable circular economy.

Dr Jonathan Wagner, CircularChem Academic Programme Lead commented “In the Centre, we are working towards transforming the UK Chemical Industry to adopt more circular business models that eliminate the use of fossil carbon and reduce waste and net carbon emissions.

The award recognises our extensive work in developing new enabling technologies, whole system analysis and working with stakeholders from policy, business and third sector to identify pathways towards accelerating change.

Gaining recognition through this prestigious award shows that we are on the right track and demonstrates the need for and importance of the work done by the Centre.”
